Genelex's mission is "science that benefits humanity" - we offer a range of DNA tests from Paternity to Drug Reaction Testing as well as life-saving Drug Safety software that make a difference in people's lives.

Currently, we are seeking a sales and customer service professional with a passion for exceeding customer expectations to join our team. You will work hand in hand with clients all over the world to coordinate all aspects of genetic testing. You also have the opportunity to develop medical accounts for our drug safety testing and software. This position requires an exceptional sales achiever, high energy, a positive outlook, a warm telephone personality, computer savvy, a clear speaking voice, and a DO IT NOW! attitude.

The ideal candidate will be an aggressive self-starter with a solid background in sales and excellent closing ability. Computer data-entry skills a must. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be sensitive to the needs of our clients and have the ability to treat confidential and/or sensitive information appropriately. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required. Bilingual Spanish a big plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Talks with customers by phone to sell services, schedule DNA collections, receives orders, or changes in service, and provide information. Keeps records of customer requests and complaints. Fills out appropriate forms, determines charges for services requested, prepares change of address records, and issues discontinuance orders. Solicits sale of new or additional services. Adjusts complaints concerning billing or service rendered, refers complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation. Maintains files of uncollected bills and follows procedures for the collection of those bills. Assists with collection of biological samples from clients. Types correspondence and other documents. May prepare and assist in outbound mailing program. Maintains chain of custody and other required documents. Maintains appropriate confidentiality. Miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor or lead

Biotechnology Technical Writer Internship (Unpaid)

Responsibilities:

Qualifications and Requirements:

Advanced undergraduate or graduate study in technical communication, business communication, or related field. Excellent verbal and writing skills. High level of self-direction. Ability to work with a wide range of people. Proficient in Microsoft Word and the Internet.

Time Commitment: Completion of project (flexible hours)

Supervision: Director of Client Relations

Benefits: This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the form and content of collateral materials in an important, emerging field. Marketing Internship (unpaid)

Marketing Interns will work closely with the Business Development Team on a specific marketing campaign; typical durations are 10 hours a week for 12 weeks, but can be modified to meet credit requirements at your university. Campaigns vary and can be catered to the student's interest.

A sample project would be planning and executing a campaign to increase international and immigration DNA testing inquiries. The student would review old campaigns with the Business Development Team and develop a marketing plan to reach the target audience. The student would map out specific goals and layout timelines for completion. They would work closely with a mentor along the way to evaluate their progress and reassess the plan. The final few weeks would be sent reviewing the effectiveness of the campaign.

Desired qualities include strong written and oral communication skills, strong personal computer skills (word processors, spreadsheets, database tools, e-mail, web browsers), dedication and willingness to work hard, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines, and excellent knowledge of your field.
