Green Up Program

At Genelex, we take our motto, "science that benefits humanity" to heart. In addition to being pioneers in DNA testing, Genelex is also a pioneer in sustainability. We are currently the only carbon neutral DNA lab.

Platinum Member. Genelex is platinum member of Seattle's carbon neutral power program, Green Up. Green Up is certified by the Green-e Renewable Energy Program. 100% of our energy consumption is carbon neutral.

Waste Reduction and Diversion. Genelex has implemented waste reduction and diversion programs. Waste reduction postpones the need for new landfills, incinerators and other capital intensive waste management systems while at the same time reducing fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Local people — Local jobs. A sustainable community requires nearby, easily accessible jobs with a range of skill requirements. Genelex offers a wide range of career opportunities in the Seattle area.

Commute Trip Reduction. Genelex encourages employees to reduce commuter trips by walking, busing, carpooling or biking to work. Regular bus riders receive a free bus pass. Carpoolers receive a gas stipend. Employees that regularly bike commute receive a stipend for tune-ups and bike equipment.

Purchasing Guidelines. Stop waste before it happens! Genelex' sustainable office policy emphasizes waste prevention, durable products, and reuse. We use 100% post consumer recycled copy paper and reuse packaging.
