If you need a DNA test for a legal matter such as child support or custody, you will need a legally admissible paternity test. For this type of testing, photo identification of all tested parties is required, samples are shipped and collected by impartial third parties and strict chain of custody is maintained.
Process for a Legally Admissible Paternity test:
1. Call our Paternity expert at 800-523-3080 to place an order or Request a Call.
2. Your dedicated DNA Testing Consultant will explain the step-by-step process to complete your test, and answer any questions you may have. They will schedule an appointment for all tested individuals at one of our 2200 DNA Collection sites or with a mobile collector.
3. As soon as the samples are collected, the collector will ship them to Genelex using the prepaid return FEDEX shipping included with your kit.
4. Results will be sent in 5-7 business days in the format you requested (mail, email and/or fax). Copies of the chain of custody documents can also be included at your request.
You can order your test at 800-523-3080 or Request a Call.
Difference Between A Home Paternity & Legally Admissible Paternity Test
We've prepared a chart so that you can compare the two types of parentage tests that are available. The laboratory testing is performed in the same manner in both types of test. The differences are in the collection and reporting. When making your decision please consider what would happen if the test results either confirm or deny paternity.
