  • You or a family member has a history of adverse drug reactions, or lack of response to medications.

  • You plan to start antidepressantsand want to reduce the time and trials spent finding the right drug and dose

  • You are planning for a surgery or dental procedure for which pain medication, such as codeine, would be prescribed.

  • You are considering Coumadin (warfarin), tamoxifen, or 5-FU.

  • You have a chronic health condition such as cancer or heart disease and need to take medications for an extended time.

  • You plan to take a medication with an FDA warning about gene interactions such as Plavix.
